Eric Haak
With a proven track record in the Roller Hockey Industry, Eric Haak has been heading the Buffalo Wings Organization for 7 years now. He has a wealth of experience in the sport and oversees all aspects of the day-to-day operations within the organization. Prior to accepting his current role with the business, Eric Haak made his mark as a top player for the Buffalo Junior Wings and also as a USA Hockey Ice, and Inline Official. Haak is a very well known person/coach in the Roller Hockey Community. He has a love and respect for the game that is extremely hard to match.
The Buffalo Wings travel teams have been influenced and held to extremely high standards by Haak. He currently coaches the organizations 18u, 21u, D1 teams and is even considering coming out of retirement to join the teams re-formed PRO squad. Current co-owner Jason Klein says that " Eric Haak is regarded by many players in our organization as one of the most compassionate, responsible, and reliable young men that they have ever met. He is not only a coach to these kids but has also had a great deal of precedent for developing adolescents into young men. I have watched him develop the skills and sportsmanship of youth and adults alike."
Haak is known throughout the organization as one of the fiercest competitors around. With Haak on your side, you always have a shot to win. His desire to succeed and desire to be mentally ready for a game is believed to be second to none. Haak is quoted as saying "Just wanting to win is not good enough, you have to need to win. Needing to win, in my mind, simply consists of not allowing yourself to make no an option. You need to dig deep, stay positive and not just believe you can win, you must know you can win. Every player on my team has a job, if they all do that job properly and with all their heart and determination, we can win every time." Believe it or not, Haak's love for Roller Hockey is evenly matched with his love for Football as he is one of the biggest NFL fans around. Anyone that knows Eric understands that he is a die hard San Francisco 49ers fan. If they lose on Sunday, don't bother trying to call him until the next day!
Eric Haak has recently graduated from State University of New York Empire State College with his Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development with a focus on Sports Psychology. He is taking some time off and and will begin to chip away at his Masters Degree in the fall of 08. Eric is a proud father and lives in Cheektowaga, NY with his daughter and dog.
